SMILE (Support, Mentor, Inspire, Listen, Encourage) is a student led Peer Mentoring Program. SMILE mentors help younger students in our school feel that they belong, that they are recognised and valued as individuals by having an older, interested person whom they can talk to on a regular basis.
The aims of SMILE are:
- To give students a better experience at school
- To create a friendly and happy school environment
- To build stronger connections between students
- To reduce the level of bullying at South Grafton High School
Mentors meet with their buddies during Special Interest class. Other students having problems can also approach the SMILE mentors who can be easily recognised by their smiley badges.
